Bruce Anstey

Bruce Anstey (born August 21, 1969 in Wellington ) is a New Zealand motorcycle racer . Anstey mainly drives street races .
Career
In 1978, while on vacation on the Isle of Man, he met the Tourist Trophy and was fascinated by it. He drove amateur races for many years until he was diagnosed with cancer in 1994 . In 1996 he switched to professional sport and took part in the TT for the first time. He holds two records on the 60 km long Snaefell Mountain Course . In 2014 he set the absolute lap record with 17: 06.682 minutes, which corresponds to an average speed of 212.913 km / h. His top speed record of 331 km / h has been in place since a training run for the TT 2006.
Anstey is considered very shy and shy and rarely gives interviews. He has lived continuously in the UK since 2004. For his services to racing, he was awarded the New Zealand Order of Merit . On the all-time best lists of the North West 200, Anstey ranks fourth with ten wins and sixth at the TT with 12 wins.
