Bruce Foxton (born September 1, 1955 in Woking , Surrey ) is a British musician.

He made his international breakthrough as the bass player for the mod band The Jam . He also sang the lead vocals on the jam songs David Watts and News of the World . The latter was the only jam single that was composed by Foxton and not Paul Weller .

After The Jam broke up, Bruce Foxton tried his hand at being a solo artist with LP and single releases. Until 2006 he was a member of the Northern Irish punk band Stiff Little Fingers , after which he toured with The Casbah Club , among other things as the opening act for The Who .

For Paul Weller's solo album Wake Up the Nation (2010), he worked with his former bandmate for the first time since the jam split up.

From the Jam

Since 2007 Bruce Foxton toured successfully with Rick Buckler supported by Russell Hastings (vocals and guitar) and David Moore (guitar and keyboard) under the name "From the Jam". The group played well-known pieces of the jam at their concerts. In November 2008 the group released a double DVD of a concert at "The Forum" in London. Buckler left the group in September 2009 and was replaced by Mark Brzezicki .
