Brother publisher

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Bruderverlag Albert Bruder GmbH & Co. KG is a specialist publisher for timber construction and the carpentry trade . It was founded in 1922 and taken over as a 100% subsidiary of the Rudolf Müller media group in 1995 .

The core of the publishing house are the two renowned trade magazines BAUEN MIT HOLZ and DER ZIMMERMANN, which for many decades have been providing monthly information to all key people in the timber construction industry, from business owners to trainees . The magazines provide current project reports, basic technical texts, market-based information on the industry, event information and much more.

The publisher's book program is dedicated to current structural challenges such as passive houses in timber construction, renovation in roof and timber construction or stair construction. With the work "Timber Frame Construction ", the publisher, together with the Fachverband Holzbau Deutschland , publishes a standard work for modern timber construction. The brother publisher is a funding partner of the Holzbau Deutschland Institute and media partner of the Informationsverein Holz.

In May 2007 the publishing house moved its headquarters from Karlsruhe to Cologne.

The publisher is currently in the process of developing from a classic specialist publisher to a media service provider for everyone involved in timber construction . Events and digital offers are becoming increasingly important. Examples are:

  • Renovation Prize - The award for craftsmen in renovation
  • Holzbauforum (together with Beuth-Verlag )
  • Timber construction finder (smartphone app)
  • HolzTraining (smartphone app for trainees)
  • dach-holz.tv - The channel for roofers and carpenters
