Bruno Bigoni

Bruno Bigoni (* 1950 in Milan ) is an Italian film director and screenwriter .

Life

Bigoni graduated from high school in Bologna and from there knew Gabriele Salvatores and the other founders of the Teatro dell'Elfo . He completed his studies in humanities ( Lettere e Filosofia ) with a thesis on François Truffaut . After a few attempts with short films and as an actor, he turned to directing in 1983 with Live , which he staged with Kiko Stella and was able to gain some attention in the feature sections. With a few exceptions - Veleno was awarded the prize for best Italian film in Locarno in 1993 - the films that followed from 1986 onwards did not reach a large audience and were mostly released on video. In 1996 he worked for television.

In addition to these activities, Bigoni worked in a variety of ways: He is involved in the Film Maker di Milano , founded the magazine Sperduti nel buio , teaches at the Università Cattolica in Milan and is director of the Laboratorio Internazionale di Communicazione di Gremona del Friuli and lecturer at the Scuola Nazionale di Cinema .

His short film Amleto… frammenti received an award at the 1997 Venice Festival . Since the mid-1990s, Bigoni has mainly made documentaries .

In 2010 Bigoni taught at the IULM University.
