Bruno Cicognani

Bruno Cicognani (born October 10, 1879 in Florence , † November 16, 1971 ibid) was an Italian writer.

The grandson of the playwright Filippo Cicognani and son of the magistrate Dante Cicognani was introduced to literature by his uncle, the poet Enrico Nencioni . He completed a law degree in Urbino and worked as a lawyer until 1940. He attended literature courses at the Istituto di studi superiori di Firenze , lectures in anatomy and psychiatry, and social science lectures at the Istituto "Cesare Alfieri" .

Cicognani wrote novels, short stories, poems and dramas. For his autobiography L'eta fsvolosa he was awarded the literary prize of the Accademia d'Italia in 1941 . From 1955 a nine-volume edition of his complete works was published. On his 90th birthday, his hometown Florence honored him with a ceremonial award in the Palazzo Vecchio .
