Bruno Hempel

Bruno Hempel (born December 20, 1876 in Rabenau , † April 3, 1937 in Celle ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

Hempel was born the son of a master cooper. After attending elementary school, he completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter. He then worked as a carpenter and chair maker until 1919. From 1919 to 1926 he was employed as an employment agent at the employment office in Celle. From 1926 to 1933 he was the managing director of the Celler Volkszeitung .

Hempel, who had joined the SPD, was a city councilor in Celle. In 1921 he became a member of the Citizens Committee and in 1929 an honorary senator. From January 5, 1920 to 1921, he was a successor member of the Prussian State Constitutional Assembly . In February 1921 he was elected as a member of the Prussian state parliament, to which he was a member until 1924. In parliament he represented constituency 15 (East Hanover).

After the National Socialists came to power , he was expelled from the Celle city council in June 1933 and deposed as senator.
