Bruno Hummer

Bruno Hummer (born December 16, 1939 in Nenzing ) is a former Austrian politician ( FPÖ ) and machine fitter. From 1984 to 1989 he was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament and from 1982 to 1992 mayor of Nenzing.

education and profession

Hummer attended elementary and secondary school in Nenzing and then completed an apprenticeship as a machine fitter at the Austrian Federal Railways in Feldkirch. He passed the journeyman's examination and attended foreman training courses in Switzerland. Professionally, he worked as a machine fitter in Liechtenstein and Switzerland before he worked as a foreman and department manager at the aluminum plant in Nenzing until 1985. He also worked part-time as an innkeeper and was a full-time politician between 1985 and 2003. In 2003, Hummer retired.

Politics and functions

Hummer joined the FPÖ in 1969 and was elected a member of the Nenzig municipal council in 1970, to which he was a member until 2003. From 1975 to 1985 he was a member of the local council and headed the department for “local companies”. Between 1985 and November 2003 he directed the fortunes of the community as mayor. As a member of the Bludenz constituency , he succeeded Martin Zerlauth in the Vorarlberg state parliament on May 12, 1982 , to which he belonged until the resignation on October 5, 1992. Within the party, Hummer held the office of local party chairman of the FPÖ Nenzing at the local level. He worked at the district level from 1974 as a member of the FPÖ district party leadership in Bludenz, from 1976 to 1996 as district party chairman and from 1996 as deputy district party chairman. Furthermore, he was a member of the FPÖ state party leadership in Vorarlberg from 1974, from 1976 to 2006 a member of the FPÖ state party executive committee in Vorarlberg and from 1980 a member of the state party presidency. From 1980 he held his highest internal party function as the regional party chairman of the FPÖ Vorarlberg, and from 1982 to 1992 he was a member of the FPÖ federal party leadership.

Hummer was also a representative of the Nenzing community in the Nenzing agricultural community, deputy chairman and chairman of the Nenzing agricultural community and a member of the housing subsidy council. In the sporting field, he was active as a functionary of WSV Nenzing from 1962, was chairman or president of FC Nenzing and president of the Brandnertal - Walgau - Walsertal ski association.

Private

Bruno Hummer was the son of the community employee Johann Hummer and his wife Josefine Hummer, née Lerc. He married Martha Heb from Liechtenstein in 1977 and had two daughters.
