Bruno Lippmann (born April 3, 1896 in Lichtenstein / Sa. , † May 10, 1978 in Oelsnitz / Erzgeb. ) Was a German teacher , local chronicle and local history researcher .

Life

Bruno Lippmann was born in 1896 as the son of Robert Lippmann, who co-founded the Lichtenstein consumer cooperative, in poor circumstances. Even as a child, Bruno had to help his family by working from home. In the elementary and community school he performed very well and was regarded as inquisitive and hungry for reading. After completing eight-grade school he went to Gersdorf to do an apprenticeship with a blacksmith and became a mine fitter in the Oelsnitz coal field. In August 1914, when the First World War broke out, he was called up for military service. In 1918 he returned from the war and in 1919 became a stocking knitter in the GA Bahner company. Already at this time he was collecting all the facts about the local history.

After the Second World War he joined the SED and in 1948 became a vocational school teacher in Lichtenstein. He practiced this profession until 1963, then he retired and devoted himself to his main work, the creation of the "History of the City of Lichtenstein". Since the first year of the regional magazine Der Heimatfreund for the Ore Mountains , many of his articles on the history of the region have appeared in the culture and homeland and nature and homeland magazines and in the daily press.

In the Kulturbund of the GDR he was active as a city and castle guide and promoted the next generation.

In 1975 he moved to live with his daughter in Oelsnitz, only a few kilometers away, where he died in 1978.
