Bruno Rodschinka

Bruno Rodschinka (born August 25, 1891 in Dresden , † November 6, 1929 in England ) was a German pilot.

Life

In 1918 Rodschinka was a “one-flyer” at Siemens.

Rodschinka took up his first civilian job in 1921 as a pilot with Lloyd-Ostflug. There he flew a Junkers F 13 Dz-39. In 1923 he became an employee of Junkers & Co. and flew for Junkers in the Soviet Union . In the summer of 1924 Rodschinka went on promotional flights for the Dobroljot . In November of the same year he completed his 100,000. Flight kilometers.

In 1926 he switched to Lufthansa as a pilot . In 1927 Rodschinka opened the Berlin - Dresden - Prague route with a Junkers G 24 . There was a crash over the Ore Mountains , but Rodschinka survived.

On July 23, 1928, Rodschinka was able to celebrate his 500,000 flight kilometers.

Despite his experience, however, on November 6, 1929, a Junkers G 24 crashed again over England, with Rodschinka being fatally injured.

Honors

The city of Magdeburg had temporarily named a street Rodschinkastraße in his honor. In 1935 a Junkers Ju 52 / 3m (No. 4073) received its name. After it was renamed Guadal Quivir in 1939 as part of a sale to the Spanish airline Iberia , a Ju 52 (No. 6734) was named after him again in 1940. This flew for the German Air Force until January 26, 1944 .
