The group Brutale Haie was the only right-wing rock band founded in the German Democratic Republic .
biography
After right-wing extremist skinhead groups based on the West German and British models had existed in the GDR from the beginning to the middle of the eighties , it took longer than in Western Europe to express their sentiments in music due to the repressive measures. The only East German band was the band Brutale Haie from Erfurt, founded in 1988 .
A first demo recording as a cassette under the title Kapelle Oi was not recorded until 1991. They already contained the most famous song of the band: "The Doitschlandlied" whose text by scene and genre-typical xenophobia is embossed. The cassette still contained the addition "Ausländer raus!" As the last line of the song , this line was left out in the version that appeared on the debut album Doitschtum . Nevertheless, both releases were indexed in 1993, the album was withdrawn nationwide in 1994. The subsequent publications were more moderate in the lyrics. The band broke up in the mid-1990s.
Brutale Haie was personally identical to Oi! Which was also founded in the mid-1990s . / Skinhead band Trabireiter . Nowadays it distances itself from neo-Nazis and political extremes.
