Brutus (Toreut)

Brutus was an ancient Roman Toreut (metal sculptor). He was active in Sucidava , today's Celei in the province of Dacia, at a time that cannot be precisely determined in the 2nd or 3rd century. He made lead frames for mirrors that were decorated with geometric, vegetable and zoomorphic relief patterns. The plumbarius signed some of the pieces
