The Bubali Bird Sanctuary is a bird sanctuary in the northwest of the Caribbean island of Aruba .
history
The area with a land area of around 25 hectares includes the only artificially created inland lake on the island. The two interconnected pond areas were created during the construction of the seawater desalination plant and the sewage treatment plant of WEB Aruba -etriebe ( Water en Energiebedrijf Aruba NV ). The lake has a small drainage channel to the sea.
To the north, the Bubali Bird Sanctuary borders the park of the only windmill in Aruba. The Bubali Bird Sanctuary is a resting and breeding area for more than 80 species of migratory birds. The bird sanctuary's observation tower offers visitors the opportunity to watch birds.
