The Buchensee , sometimes also called Güttinger See , is a lake in the area of the municipality of Radolfzell on Lake Constance in the district of Konstanz in Baden-Württemberg . It is located southwest of the Güttingen district, is around 3 hectares in size and up to 12 meters deep.
The Buchensee is located 4 km northeast of Radolfzell and is easy to ride by bike and by car. Parking is right next to the residence of the meadow.
The Buchensee is also used for swimming. Non-swimmers should only go into the water up to the marking. Swimming is at your own risk; there is no bathroom attendant. Landing opposite the actual entrance to the lake is not permitted.
The lake got its name because of its appearance, as it is shaped like a beech tree.
