According to the United States Census Bureau , the township has a total area of ​​47.8 km 2 , all of which is land. There are no boroughs or cities in the Ralpho Township area; However, the Census Bureau has defined the township of Elysburg as a census-designated place in the central north .

The natural boundaries of Ralpho Township are South Branch Roaring Creek in the east, which also forms the border with Columbia County here, Little Mountain in the south, Shamokin Creek in the west and Shamokin Hill and its eastern branches in the north. Gilgers Ridge geographically divides the township into a northern and a southern part.

The neighboring townships are Rush Township in the western north , Cleveland Township in neighboring Columbia County in the east and north , Coal Township in the south and Shamokin Township in the west .

In the very southwest of the township are Sunnyside and Overlook . In the southeast corner of the township, the street village of Bear Gap extends at the foot of Little Mountain . In the northeast corner is Knoebels Grove with the amusement park. To the west, above Shamokin Creek, is the hamlet of Shamrock .

The Northumberland County Airport is located south of Ralpho Township.
