The Ralpho Township is a township in Northumberland County , Pennsylvania in the United States . At the time of the 2010 United States Census , the township had 4,321 residents, compared to 3,764 in the 2000 United States Census .

According to the United States Census Bureau , the township has a total area of 47.8 km 2 , all of which is land. There are no boroughs or cities in the Ralpho Township area; However, the Census Bureau has defined the township of Elysburg as a census-designated place in the central north .
The natural boundaries of Ralpho Township are South Branch Roaring Creek in the east, which also forms the border with Columbia County here, Little Mountain in the south, Shamokin Creek in the west and Shamokin Hill and its eastern branches in the north. Gilgers Ridge geographically divides the township into a northern and a southern part.
The neighboring townships are Rush Township in the western north , Cleveland Township in neighboring Columbia County in the east and north , Coal Township in the south and Shamokin Township in the west .
In the very southwest of the township are Sunnyside and Overlook . In the southeast corner of the township, the street village of Bear Gap extends at the foot of Little Mountain . In the northeast corner is Knoebels Grove with the amusement park. To the west, above Shamokin Creek, is the hamlet of Shamrock .
The Northumberland County Airport is located south of Ralpho Township.

The Lawrence L. Knoebel Covered Bridge , the Kreigbaum Covered Bridge, and the Richards Covered Bridge are on the National Register of Historic Places .
Demographics
At the time of the United States Census 2000, Ralpho Township was inhabited by 3764 people. The population density was 78.7 people per km 2 . There were 1,600 housing units, an average of 33.5 per km 2 . The population in Ralpho Township was 99.31% White , 0.08% Black or African American , 0.08% Native American , 0.27% Asian , 0% Pacific Islander , 0% said they were of other races and 0.27% named two or more races. 0.43% of the population declared to be Hispanic or Latinos of any race.
The residents of Ralpho Townships were distributed to 1,497 households out of which 31.9% had children under the age of 18. 65.7% of households were married, 6.9% had a female head of the household without a husband, and 25.1% were not families. 22.9% of households were made up of individuals and someone lived in 12.4% of all households aged 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.47 and the average family size was 2.90.
