The bay of Butuan is a bay in the northeastern part of the island of Mindanao in the southern Philippines .

The bay is part of the Mindanao Sea , also called Bohol Sea, and is enclosed by the province of Agusan del Norte .

The Agusan River , one of the largest rivers in Mindanao, flows into Butuan Bay near the city of Butuan City .

The bay's fishing grounds are one of the main sources of income for city dwellers and the entire coastal region of the province. The bay is also interesting for tourism and diving .
