Book cradle
A book cradle is a holder for careful viewing or processing of books and similar bound works. It generally consists of a rigid or adjustable, V-shaped holder in which the book is placed. Book cradles are mainly used in libraries and museums for exhibitions and retro-digitization , for example in the Graz book cradle , the Wolfenbüttel book mirror or other book scanners . An alternative to book cradles in digitization are book cradles , which allow a higher opening angle.
Inexpensive book cradles can be produced, for example, by combining foam blanks. The contact surface of book cradles is smooth to avoid abrasion on the cover.
