The Buffalo Lake is a lake in the Canadian province of Alberta .
Buffalo Lake is 25 miles northeast of Red Deer . The 93.5 km² lake lies at an altitude of 780 m and borders on the counties of Camrose , Stettler and Lacombe . The lake is divided into two larger and one smaller basin. The main tributary is Parlby Creek . The outflow of the lake forms the Tail Creek , a left tributary of the Red Deer River , provided that the water level exceeds the height of 782 m, which has not been the case since 1950. Due to the lack of drainage, the water is slightly salty.
Rochon Sands Provincial Park is located on Buffalo Lake . There are pike and burbot in the lake .
