Lists on the subject

The Buko , also called Buku or Parang Buko , is a sword from Borneo .

description

The Buko has a curved, single-edged blade. The blade widens from the handle to the location and is sharply bent after about a fifth. The blade only becomes narrower after the handle, but wider again after the bend. The place is rounded. The handle is made of wood or horn and is decorated with decorative carving on the pommel . A metal clamp is attached to the transition area from the handle to the blade , which is used to better fasten the blade and handle. The Buko is very similar to the Parang-Latok and the Parang-Pandit . It is used by ethnic groups from Borneo.
