Federal Academy for Church and Diakonia
The Federal Academy for Church and Diakonia (bakd) is a nationwide academy for adult education of the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD) and the Evangelical Work for Diakonia and Development located in Berlin . It belongs as a brand to the Akademien für Kirche und Diakonie gGmbH and was created in 2006 when the EKD joined the Diakonische Akademie in Germany.
The Supervisory Board of the Academies for Church and Diakonia consists of nine members. Maria Loheide , head of social policy at Diakonie Deutschland - Evangelischer Bundesverband, has been chairman since 2011 . Deputy chairman is Peter Barrenstein, former head of the business consultancy firm McKinsey and Co. in Germany . Pastor Peter Burkowski (for the academy leadership academy for church and diakonia ) and Dr. Klaus Ziller (for the Federal Academy).
history
In 1971 the Diakonisches Werk of the Evangelical Church in Germany founded the Diakonische Akademie. In 1975 the Diakonisches Werk, the Inner Mission and the Aid Organization of the Evangelical Churches in the GDR founded their Diakonisches Qualisierungszentrum (DQZ). In 1997 the Diakonische Akademie Germany was founded, which combined both institutions. In 2006, the Federal Academy for Church and Diakonia (BAKD) was founded . The main shareholders are the EKD and the Evangelical Work for Diakonia and Development , there are 30 other shareholders. Since 2009, the academy has also included the Burckhardthaus area , an evangelical training center for youth, cultural and social work, and the Bufa Federal Technical Academy.
