Federal Courthouse
The Federal Court Building ( [ ˈbʊndɘsɘrɡɘˌçt͡s.ɡeˈbœɪ̯də ] ) is located in Lausanne in the canton of Vaud . It is the headquarters of the Federal Supreme Court and is one of the cultural assets of national importance in the canton of Vaud .

history
Since the space available at the previous location of the court, in the Palais de Justice , was becoming scarce, the federal government decided to build a new and larger courthouse. Thus in 1913 an architectural competition was announced. This was won by the architects Louis-Ernest Prince and Jean Béguin . Under their guidance, the building was built from 1922 to 1927. The two architects received support from Jacques Béguin , Jean's son, and the federal representative Alphonse Laverrière .
