Federal program teacher

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A federal program teacher (BPLK) is a German teacher in the international school service who - mediated by the Federal Office of Administration (BVA), Central Office for Schools Abroad - enters into an employment relationship with a school abroad and receives financial benefits linked to this employment relationship from the BVA.

As a rule, a federal program teacher is a teacher who has passed the 1st and 2nd state exams and is not employed by an employer within Germany. However, civil servants or permanently employed teachers can also take leave of absence to work as a BPLK.
