Bundesverband Naturkost Naturwaren
The Bundesverband Naturkost Naturwaren e. V. (BNN) is a German interest group that represents the interests of the producers of organic food . The registered association has its seat in Berlin .
history
The association's history goes back to 1983.
The association was first established on December 12, 1988 as the Federal Association of Natural Food and Natural Goods Wholesalers. V. (BNN-Wholesale, BNN-GH) with seat in Bonn in the local register of associations and later in Bundesverband Naturkost Naturwaren Produktion und Handel e. V. renamed. The Bundesverband Naturkost Naturwarenhandel e. V. (BNN retail, BNN-EH) entered in the Bonn register of associations.
In 2007 the seat of the Federal Association of Natural Food, Natural Goods Manufacturing and Trading e. V. relocated to Berlin and entered into the local register of associations on May 31 of that year. On January 1, 2013, the previously independent BNN retail trade association became part of the Bundesverband Naturkost Naturwaren e. V. called general association based in Berlin.
tasks
The association participates in numerous bodies and committees on international and national legislative projects, for example on regulations such as the European Organic Regulation and the Organic Farming Act . In addition, the association adopts quality guidelines for the organic food trade, for example the orientation values for pesticide residues in organic products and the decision to fully declare all food ingredients. The association's own monitoring system for fruit and vegetables in the organic food trade supplements any other process controls in organic farming with the aim of detecting and eliminating possible weaknesses in quality assurance through residue controls.
The association has defined a uniform price list format that is used by leading wholesalers .
The association is a member of the International Association of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM) and the Federal Organic Food Industry (BÖLW).
