The Bundesverband Solare Mobility eV (BSM) is an interest group for the promotion of electric mobility , especially in connection with the generation of the required electricity from renewable energy sources .

Members are companies such as vehicle designers and manufacturers, experts in transport systems and safety, suppliers of electricity from renewable energies, charging process technicians and battery developers as well as private and commercial users of all kinds of electricity or solar-powered vehicles.

activities

In the years of its existence, the association has developed into the most important contact for renewable e-mobility in Germany. His expertise is also in demand in the Federal Environment Ministry, the Federal Environment Agency and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, in whose projects and specialist conferences the BSM is involved in a variety of ways.

The association is listed in the public list of the registration of associations and their representatives for the President of the Bundestag. According to this list (as of April 2015) the association has 350 members, 15 organizations are affiliated to it.

The association develops solutions to current questions of electric mobility and is represented in the working group "Mobility" in the Federal Association for Renewable Energy (BEE), the working group "Infrastructure and Network Integration" of the National Platform for Electric Mobility (NPE) and other permanent bodies in which mobility from renewable energies takes center stage.

In the past 20 years, the association has organized over 10 conferences and over 100 special shows for sustainable and solar mobility itself. and takes part in regional and national activities on electromobility. For example, a BSM member won Wave2011, a race for electric vehicles. The association has also been an exhibitor at the Munich electromobility fair eCarTec since the first edition in 2009, mostly as the main exhibitor together with partners, as in 2010. The BSM chairman is a member of the exhibition's exhibitor advisory board.

The BSM operated the Park & Charge charging network in Germany, whose charging stations are listed in the LEMnet directory. Both Park & Charge and the LEMnet.org charging station directory have now been spun off into independent associations. The LEMnet Europe association provides up-to-date information on charging stations in Germany and Europe on the Internet and in APPs for smartphones, and POI files for common navigation systems are also available for download on the website .

The association used the independent specialist magazine EMobile plus solar , previously known as Solarmobil Mitteilungen , which is published four times a year, as the official communication organ until the end of 2014. From 2015, the magazine will be available from the publisher at a reduced price for BSM members.

The association compiles a comprehensive market overview of available electric cars , electric two-wheeled vehicles and commercial vehicles with electric drives and makes them available to all interested parties.

For the Charging Column Ordinance (LSV) for Germany presented by the government coalition at the beginning of 2015 , the BSM, together with associations of operators of charging stations, submitted statements, criticism and numerous suggestions for changes, all of which were disregarded by politicians and the Federal Council. A letter was sent directly to the Federal Council's Economic and Transport Committee. The Federal Council Assembly postponed the vote on the LSV on December 3, 2015; on March 9, 2016, it came into force on March 17, 2016.

history

The association was founded on December 2nd, 1989 under the name of the Solarmobil Drivers and Constructors Association . The later chairmen Hans Jürgen Erk, Roland Reichel and Thomic Ruschmeyer were there as founding members. The chairman from 1989 to 1992 was Hans Jürgen Erk, who at the time imported the MiniEl, later CityEl, from Denmark. Roland Reichel was chairman of the association from 1992 to 2006, and Thomic Ruschmeyer has been chairman since 2006. The current honorary chairman Roland Reichel is still the editor of the magazine "EMobile plus solar", which has been published since October 1987.

At the end of 1992 the association was renamed Bundesverband Solarmobil . Another renaming took place in mid-2004, since then the association has had its current name, Bundesverband Solare Mobility .
