The Federal Association of Doctors in the Public Health Service e. V. (BVÖGD) is a professional association as well as an independent trade union representation based in Berlin . The federal chairman is Ute Teichert, head of the Academy for Public Health in Düsseldorf.
The BVÖGD is the umbrella organization of
- State associations of doctors of the public health service represented in all federal states. There are currently 15 regional associations as members, since Brandenburg and Berlin form a joint regional association.
- For members of these regional associations, both civil servants and collective bargaining employees, he is the professional political and trade union representative.
- He is represented in committees of the German Medical Association, he is a member of the “Doctor in the Public Sector” and “Health and Environment” committee and a full member of the German Academy of Regional Doctors. He cooperates with scientific and medical associations, organizations and institutions.
- The BVÖGD is a member of the umbrella organization “ German Society for Public Health ” (DGPH), the “ Federal Association for Prevention and Health Promotion ” (BVPG), at European level in the “European Union for School and University Health and Medicine” (EUSUHM) and in the "World Federation of Public Health Associations" (WFPHA).
- The BVÖGD, together with the Federal Association of Dentists in the Public Health Service, holds an annual scientific congress in which around 600 to 800 doctors and dentists take part.
