Federal Association of Contract Psychotherapists
The Federal Association of Contract Psychotherapists ( bvvp ), based in Berlin, is an interest group of psychotherapists that is responsible for the concerns of all contract psychotherapists (resident doctors, psychological psychotherapists and child and adolescent psychotherapists) with scientifically recognized further training or training in guideline procedures ( behavioral therapy , depth psychology sound psychotherapy , psychoanalytic psychotherapy ).
He also represents the interests of psychotherapists in training (PiAs) who are not yet contract handlers , and those of licensed psychotherapists who cannot become contract handlers because the procedures they work according to are not permitted in the system of statutory health insurance ( conversation psychotherapy , Systemic therapy ).
The association was formed in 1994 from regional initiatives by contract or guideline psychotherapists in order to jointly enforce their economic interests against the statutory health insurance associations and the federal association of statutory health insurance physicians. The chairman of the association is Benedikt Waldherr.
Structure and purpose
The bvvp is the umbrella organization of 17 regional associations working at the KV level to date . With a total of around 4400 members of the regional associations, it is the second largest association (after the DPtV) of contract psychotherapists in Germany. Within the association, the integration of the psychotherapeutic professional groups laid down in the Psychotherapists Act is successfully practiced. The aim of the bvvp is to enforce their equality within medical self-administration and in practice. He strives to improve the profitability of psychotherapeutic practices, to ensure the quality of care and to maintain and promote the variety of practices.
Professional political tasks
The bvvp the interests represents its members at the federal level in relation to the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians , the German Medical Association , health insurance, politics and the public. In the past, he has taken a position on all important professional policy issues and has thus been able to influence the reforms of EBM , GOÄ and psychotherapy guidelines. The bvvp played a decisive role in the increase in the number of points for psychotherapeutic services in the last EBM reforms and in the implementation of the GOP .
It was the first association to use business data to conduct the dispute about appropriate fees and to initiate and coordinate the nationwide litigation that led to the first judgments by the Federal Social Court in 1999. He was also actively involved in the development of the Psychotherapists Act in all stages and was particularly committed to the equal integration of the new health professions into the existing structures, high quality care and the elimination of the initially intended additional payment.
