The Painted Stork ( Mycteria leucocephala ) is a living in tropical Asia glutton .

The colored stork reaches a body length of 95 to 100 centimeters. He flies with his neck stretched out.

The plumage of the stork is white with black wing feathers and has a checkerboard-like black and white pattern on the front edge of the wing and on the chest. Another characteristic is the pink tint of the wings and back. The color of the bent beak is yellow, that of the bare skin of the face is reddish-orange. The legs are pink.

Young birds still have a dark gray facial skin and predominantly light gray upper plumage.

Occurrence

The colored stork is found in Sri Lanka , India , Indochina and in southern China. It lives on freshwater lakes, swamps and rice fields.
