The Burbacher Waldweiher is a pond in Saarbrücken . It is fed by the Burbach coming to the northeast .
location
The pond is located in the Saarbrücken district of Burbach . It is located north of the outskirts at the beginning of the Saarkohlenwald . The Von der Heydt settlement is two kilometers north .
history
In the lower Burbach valley, rubble from the destroyed buildings was dumped in the Second World War . A dam was raised above. The pond was created in the second half of the 1960s when the Burbach was jammed. As part of this measure, a local recreation area with a circular path and barbecue area was created, which was officially opened on September 4, 1968 by Mayor Haßdenteufel.
Freetime activities
The Fischerhütte restaurant and a grill hut are located by the pond . There is a circular hiking trail with benches set up. You can fish at the pond.

Some areas of the pond are designated as sanctuaries. Bats can be seen in the vicinity .
