history
At the beginning of the Sengoku period, the Hosokawa built a castle on the coast between the Kinki region and western Japan . The representatives after the Toyotomi period in this area, the Takebe , received an increased income after their contribution to the conquest of Osaka Castle in the summer of 1615, thus becoming a daimyo and thus becoming the lord of the castle. They had to hand over the castle to Toda Ujikane ( 戸 田 氏 鉄 ; 1576–1655) after only two years . At the time of the Toda, the castle was reinforced on the orders of the shogunate. Ujikane was soon transferred as commissioner for the reconstruction of Osaka Castle, followed by the Aoyama and finally a branch of the Matsudaira .
The attachment
The central castle area, the Hommaru ( 本 丸 ), was built on the remains of the Hosokawa castle from 1617 . On the southwest corner of the Hommaru was the four-story castle tower ( 天主 閣 Tenshukaku ). Around it, the second castle area, the Ni-no-maru ( 二 の weitere ) and other surrounding castle areas, such as the Matsu-no-maru ( 松 の 丸 ), the Tōzai-san-no-maru ( 東西 三 の 丸 ) and others closed on.
During the Meiji period , the stones of the castle were used to protect the port of Aamagasaki from storm surges, so that little was left of the castle. Some sections of the wall have recently been restored. In the former Hommaru there are now elementary and secondary schools, a city council and other buildings. Only part of the outer area has been redesigned into a green area, the Amagasakijōshi Park ( 尼 崎 城 址 公園 , ~ kōen ). Part of the San-no-maru is also preserved as the Sanomaru Park ( 三 の 丸 公園 , ~ kōen ). Since 2018, the main tower (天 守) of Honmaru has been reconstructed in Amasaki Joshi Park (尼 崎 城 址 公園), deviating from the original location. The concrete construction was completed at the end of 2018.
