The castle Ripe Hardt is a bourgeois villa in throwing , in the municipality of Windeck . It was made around 1900 for Hauptmann a. D. Effing over the Siegtal built and is since November 11 1986, listed building .

history

Effing was discharged from the army because of a deal and then went to America, where he was involved in railroad construction. After his return to Germany, he built the villa on the Reifershardt. He had to sell these after the collapse of the community bank, which he was partly responsible for.

Otto Kühne, the head of the neighboring education department ( Bodelschwingh-Gymnasium Herchen ), bought the villa and used it as a residential building.

After the school closed, the villa served as accommodation for Spanish refugees , the DAF , Belgian occupation troops and East German refugees. Some of the latter also settled in the village.

After the villa was in need of renovation, it changed hands several times and is now privately owned. It is used as a residential building.
