Ramana Castle

The Ramana Tower is the ruins of a hilltop castle in Ramana on the peninsula Absheron in Azerbaijan , which was part of the fixing chain on the peninsula. The castle lies on a natural ledge, which also forms its foundation. Due to the style, the construction time is estimated at the 14th century.

Castle complex

The courtyard of the castle is enclosed by a wall, which is no longer completely preserved. Its four corners are provided with round bastions. A protruding round arch portal in the west forms the entrance to the castle. In the middle of the courtyard is the residential tower , at the four corners of which there are also four round bastions. The residential tower, whose spiral staircase starts from the ground floor, has four floors. The upper and lower rooms are finished with stone ceilings, the middle with wooden beam ceilings .
