The rampart of Ganschendorf is a Slavic rampart in a district of the municipality of Sarow in the Mecklenburg Lake District . It is a good one kilometer northwest of the village on Augraben . It is a rare old to Middle Slavic hill castle from the 8th to 11th centuries. Investigations revealed ceramics from Feldberger , Fresendorfer and Menkendorfer goods . The discovery of two Arab coins indicates that the castle residents were trading supra-regionally. The striking castle hill rises up to a height of 7 meters on a meadow that slopes down towards the Augraben. The castle is commonly referred to as the Wendenwall .
