The rampart of Lychen , a town in the Uckermark district in the north of Brandenburg , is the stable of a Slavic low castle , a Slavic rampart .
The ground monument is located northwest of the village on a peninsula on Wurlsee . It is a circular plateau that rises up to six meters from the surrounding areas. There are no remnants of walls. The castle was probably only fortified with simpler palisades. The small size of the castle grounds, which are 60 to 70 meters in diameter, suggests that this castle was a fortified aristocratic seat from the 10th to 12th centuries. The orientation of the peninsula to the northeast could also indicate a place of worship, since Slavic sanctuaries were always oriented in this direction.
