The Wurlsee is a lake in northeast Germany near Lychen , in the Uckermark , in the state of Brandenburg .

The Wurlsee is one of the seven lakes of the Lychener Seenkreuz, but is not in the main strand of the Lychener waters . It is counted among the Uckermark Lakes . The lake is characterized by its clear water and is about 80 km north of Berlin . It is connected to the Nesselpfuhl via a canal, the Wurlflut, which, together with the Lychener Mühlbach, forms a tributary of the Lychener waters . The Woblitz , which can be accessed from the Großer Lychensee , provides a navigable connection to the Havel. This makes the Wurlsee an excellent starting point for water hikes by canoe . Larger sports boats cannot cross the Nesselpfuhl due to the low bridge heights between Wurlsee and Nesselpfuhl as well as Nesselpfuhl and Stadt- or Großem Lychener See. A former Slavic rampart is located on a peninsula on the south bank of the lake .

The Wurlsee has a water surface of 95 hectares. At its deepest point, it measures 28 m. The water of the Wurlsee comes from various sources and is very pure. The lake has the bathing water status EG bathing lake . Driving with motor boats is prohibited, fishing is only allowed with a fishing license. The summer visibility is 3 to 5 meters. It has an effective length of 1.59 kilometers and a width of 940 meters. The catchment area of the lake has an area of 9.12 km².
Flora and fauna
The main fish species are pike, perch and whitefish. Many water birds, including the great crested grebe , coot and mallard, are also common here.
