The castle barrier island is an island in the southeast of Waren (Müritz) in Mecklenburg County Lakeland situated See Feisneck Lake .

In the 1.94 km² large body of water lies the Burgwallinsel, on which the remains of a castle complex are located. It was a typical island castle from the Slav period . As ceramic finds show, the complex was laid out in the Old Slavic period of the 7th to 8th centuries and existed until the 12th century. Finds of early German ceramics indicate that the island continued to be used in the Christian Middle Ages. It is not known whether the castle still existed at that time. The castle complex was located in the tribal area of the Müritz family, who were part of the Lutizenbund in the 10th century .

Today you can only see the rest of a wall in the southern part of the wooded island. It seems that it has been eroded over the centuries.
