Madinat al-Hareer ( Arabic مدينة الحرير, DMG Madīnat al-Ḥarīr , roughly: "City of Silk") is a new city currently being planned for 700,000 people in Kuwait . It is to be built on an area of ​​250 km² on a peninsula on the northern bank of the Bay of Kuwait about 30 km north of Kuwait City .
