Bürmeringen ( lux. Boermereng , French Burmerange ) is a town in the Luxembourg municipality of Schengen . Until the end of 2011, Burmerange was the capital of the municipality of the same name, which belonged to the canton of Remich . On November 23, 2011, the municipality of Burmerange was merged with the municipalities of Wellenstein and Schengen to form a new municipality, which was given the name Schengen.

Boermereng was mentioned for the first time in 842 in a document from Emperor Lothar I as Boinbringas. Elweng was first mentioned as Aigevingen in 739. Éimereng was first mentioned as Ombringas in 907.

Between 1659 and 1769 under French rule (together with Mondorf, Duelem and Bous, among others) in contrast to the rest of the country (e.g. Remich, Welleschten and Riemeschen) what exists as the Duchy of Luxembourg (alternately under Spanish, French and Austrian rule) Has.
