Subscapular subscapular bursa

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Bursa subtendinea musculi subscapularis is a bursa of the tendon of the subscapularis muscle in the area of the shoulder joint . The bursa has an opening ventrally to the joint cavity of the shoulder joint, the Weitbrecht foramen (according to Josias Weitbrecht ), which penetrates both the joint capsule and the glenohumeral ligament . The bursa cushions the upper edge of the muscle where it crosses over the shoulder joint. It communicates with the subcoracoid bursa .
