The building was designed by architects Enrique Chanourdie and Mr. Micheletti and built by the construction company Falcone. Work began in December 1927 with the intention of building a train station for the Ferrocarril Provincial de Santa Fe . The construction was completed in 1929.

When the whole Argentine rail network during Juan Peron's presidency nationalized , some stations in Rosario by the state were Ferrocarril General Bartolomé Miter and others by Ferrocarril General Manuel Belgrano (two divisions of the newly created Ferrocarriles Argentinos ) operated. Some train stations have also been closed to reduce costs. This also affected the Rosario train station in Ferrocarril Provincial de Santa Fe, which was closed in 1947. In December 1950 it reopened as a bus station and was named after President Perón.

In 1955, during the Revolución Libertadora , which overthrew the government of Juan Perón, his name was removed from all public facilities and buildings. The bus station was named Estaciòn de Ómnibus Rosario . In 1957 it was renamed Mariano Moreno bus station - in honor of Mariano Moreno , a hero of the May Revolution .

In May 2010 the bus station was rebuilt. The cost of this was 20 million pesos . Among other things, some shops were demolished, a new road access was built, and additional toilets and ticket offices were installed. The first phase of construction was completed in October 2011, the second in July 2012. By 2013, the cost of the work had risen to 40 million pesos - about half of which was borne by the city of Rosario and the local dealers. The inauguration of the converted bus station took place in 2014. The new service area has a total size of 12,000 m².
