The Buscherhof is a court in the Remscheid district of Lüttringhausen . It lies between Lennep and Kranen.

history

The court was formerly part of Lennep's external citizenship . It was once called "Auf dem Hofe zum Busch" because the adjacent paths led down into the Schmittenbusch. The residents used to live exclusively from agriculture.

One of the five children of Dietrich Clarenbach, who lived there, was his son Adolf, who first attended school in Lennep and then attended secondary school in Münster . In 1526 Adolf Clarenbach passed the master’s examination, then worked in various cities and returned to the Bergisches Land in 1526, where he soon got into conflict with the Knights of the Cross in Beyenburg because of his attitude to Martin Luther's teachings .

He preached in a barn near the house where he was born. Three years later he was drawn back to Cologne, where he was convicted of a heretic and executed at the stake. A monument in his honor was erected in 1729 on a thoroughfare within sight of the Buscherhof.

During the Second World War, there was an anti-aircraft gun position at Buscherhof, from which planes were fired on planing approaches to Remscheid and the surrounding area.

geography

A narrow cul-de-sac connects the Buscherhof with Lüttringhauser Straße. The Buscherhofbach rises here, supplies two small ponds and ultimately flows into the upper reaches of the Morsbach . Hiking trails branch off here in different directions - and there is also a footpath to the center of Lüttringhausen.

Infrastructure

At the Buscherhof there is still a farm and, for decades, an extensive riding facility of the Remscheid Riding and Driving Association, consisting of a large riding hall and the forest riding arena, where the "Remscheid Riding Days" take place annually with an international cast and a four-digit number of participants.
