Lists on the subject

The BA50 is a repeating rifle in 12.7 × 99 mm NATO caliber . The rifle was originally developed by Cobb Manufacturing Inc. and sold for a number of years. On August 20, 2007, Bushmaster Cobb took over and has since sold the rifle as the Bushmaster BA50.

The BA50 is a further development of the FA50 (T), also from Cobb . Cobb offered it to civil users and authorities from May 2005. The BA50 is technically almost identical to the FA50 (T). The difference is that the BA50 has a repeating system with a cylinder lock , whereby the bolt stem  - rather untypical - is on the left. The M-16 was taken as inspiration for the design. Like the M-16, the BA50 can be dismantled into two parts (upper, lower receiver) for cleaning. Both parts are milled from a block of aluminum of type T6-6061 each. The grip (lower receiver) is most similar to the M16 system. Fire selector switch (safe, single fire ), pistons and the pistol grip are identical to the M16. On the housing (upper receiver) there is a Picatinny rail for attaching target optics. The fore-end of the BA50 consists of a perforated tube to which a bipod can be attached. The recoil damper consists of two equal parts, which are held together by nine hexagon socket screws and attached to the barrel. All aluminum parts are coated with a black anodized layer.

The BA50 (T) , where the (T) stands for Tactical, is a BA50 that has only been slightly modified. These changes include a fully adjustable SSR piston from Command Arms (on the Cobb version) or a PRS from Magpul (on the Bushmaster version). The forend is now also equipped with a Picatinny rail and has elongated holes. Bushmaster has sold the BA50 (T) as the Bushmaster BA50 since the Cobb acquisition.

The Bushmaster BA50 Carbine is a shorter version of the BA50 (T). The total length is only 1270 mm because of the 20 inch (508 mm) long barrel. The weight of the BA50 Carbine is 12.2 kg without the magazine. The Picatinny rail on the fore-end of the BA50 (T) is also missing.

The manufacture of the rifles originally developed by Cobb was moved to the Bushmaster plant in Windham, Maine .
