Busiris is the Greek name of an ancient Egyptian village in Upper Egypt near Hermopolis Magna . Busiris near Hermopolis Magna is one of the six places that have so far been localized under the Greek name Busiris.

In ancient Egypt, the small village was in the 15th  Upper Egyptian Gau . Although the place has been mentioned several times, nothing more is known about ancient Egyptian history.
