Buskers Bern Street Music Festival

The Buskers Bern is a three-day international festival of street artists that since 2004 every year in mid-August in Bern , Switzerland , takes place.

Busker is originally the English term for street musicians , but in connection with the festival it includes all areas of street art and street theater , such as juggling , acrobatics , clowning , magic and stand-up comedy .

During the festival hundreds of free events by street artists from all over the world will be held on various stages and squares in the city. At the Buskers Festival 2011, more than 30 artists officially gave over 300 performances.

Visitors

Buskers Bern is always very well attended, although the street parade is taking place in Zurich at the same time . In 2009 over 80,000 visitors took part. Admission to the old town is free, but patron ribbons can be bought for 10 or 20 francs. In 2011, all 20,000 ribbons were sold.
