Bus school

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A bus school is a traffic education project by transport companies or bus companies in Germany. Above all, it is intended to help increase the road safety of children and young people when using public transport ( ÖPNV ). The focus here is on the safe and independent use of the school buses. The use of rail-bound transport is also occasionally taken into account.

clientele

The bus school is mostly aimed at children in the first to fifth grades and often takes place outside of school on the premises of the respective transport company. It lasts from a few hours to a day at school.

Content

The bus school contents to be conveyed are:

  • the way to the stop ,
  • waiting at the bus stop,
  • boarding,
  • behavior on the bus,
  • getting out and crossing the street.

In addition, the children are often given information on the transport company itself, on fare dodging or on the subject of vandalism .

aims

The goals of the project implementers are different. Road safety is always an essential aspect . In addition, some transport companies also pursue marketing goals such as customer satisfaction , customer loyalty, new customer acquisition and vandalism prevention .

The bus school supplements school mobility education with the help of extracurricular cooperation partners such as transport companies, police and traffic guards . The costs of the bus school are usually borne by the respective transport companies themselves. In some cases, costs are shared with the municipality or sponsorship .
