Butrimonys is a small town with 941 inhabitants in the Rajongemeinde Alytus , the center of the administrative district and sub-district of the same name and a Catholic parish, on the 4706 highway from Punia on the Memel in the west to Onuškis in the east. The Plasaupė River flows through the city center . In Butrimonys there is a high school (335 students, 2012), a regional museum, a library, a kindergarten, a post office (LT-64061) and a racecourse .
