In 1995 he devoted himself to the paint can for the first time and began with classic style writing until he finally devoted himself to painting characters (figures). Since then he has been working with the spray can as well as with pixels and bites, which in this combination has been decisive for his style.

style

In the course of his career, Hombre developed a style on the can that is particularly evident in his comic and cartoon-like style. In addition to numerous comic adaptations, Hombre also uses a more realistic style, which is nevertheless characterized by the painting of characters and is classically created with the can. Sometimes Hombre mixes both techniques in this type of work. As the inspiration for his technique, he sees himself as a “child of the 80s”, which is also regularly shown in the motifs of his work. As one of the first graffiti artists to deal with characters, he moved away from the exclusively black outlines (borders). As a color for his outlines, he chose, in contrast to the then common technique, a darker, graduated tone compared to his fillings. His style is characterized by reduced forms, hard edges and a special sense for the play of light and shadow.

Hombre is one of the leading character painters on the graffiti scene at home and abroad.

The artist has now been able to show his work in cities such as Berlin, Bilbao, Eindhoven, Jerusalem, Moscow, New York, Shanghai, Warsaw and Zurich.

He was invited to workshops in cities such as Sofia (Bulgaria). There he worked on behalf of Sprite (Coca-Cola Company).

In 2014 he developed his own eyewear collection with the Eschenbach company based on the theme of "graffiti".

In November 2014, Hombre painted a mural for the former Bundesliga club SV Waldhof Mannheim (Pro Waldhof fan association) , which depicts the various nationalities active in the club. As a symbol for sociodiversity, the association chose six real people from its sphere of activity. The project aims to promote more tolerance.

As part of the annual art exhibition Deltabeben (City of Mannheim and Ludwigshafen), which takes place in the Kunsthalle Mannheim, Hombre designed a wall for the Kunstverein Mannheim in 2016 . In January 2019, the artist also designed a red Setra bus as a mobile children's library for the Mannheim City Library with the comic animal motifs crocodile, ibex and pelican as wrapping . Previously, Hombre had already sprayed figuratively the outer facade of the Ludwig-Frank-Gymnasium (LFG) in Mannheim and a local medical center in the Käfertal district.

From March 2016, Hombre began a collaboration with the Swiss artist Boogie SML . From now on, joint projects will officially be carried out under the pseudonym Homboog . Both artists have already worked increasingly together in the past and so, among other things, in the summer of 2015 with the project "Stadt.Wand.Kunst" of the old fire station of the city of Mannheim, a large house facade in the Benjamin-Franklin-Village (former US barracks in Mannheim -Käfertal ).

The artists have been friends with each other for several years.
