The Buttress Peak (English for pillar tip ) is a 2950  m high and conical mountain in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . In the Queen Alexandra chain of the Transantarctic Mountains, it rises 5 km south of Mount Stonehouse . Its eastern part protrudes in the form of a rock spur into the head end of the Berwick Glacier .

It received its descriptive name from participants in the 1961 to 1962 campaign as part of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition .
