The bvik - Bundesverband Industrie Kommunikation - is an industrial association for the professionalization of B-to-B industrial communication in companies.

features

With around 220 corporate members and around 30 personal members, it is one of the three largest associations of this type in Germany. The spectrum of members ranges from SMEs to international corporations. The non-profit organization was founded in 2010 with the aim of professionalising B-to-B industrial communication. The seat is in Augsburg.

Events and studies

  • Industrial Communication Day . The largest event is the annual B-to-B congress “Industrial Communication Day”. A one-day specialist conference on the future of B2B marketing. In the past, u. a. Anders Indset , The Young Entrepreneur Chairwoman Sarna Rösner or Julius van de Laar lectures on various marketing topics.
  • B-to-B Marketing Budget Study . In addition, the association publishes an annual study on B-to-B marketing budgets and the trend barometer, both in cooperation with the Kantar Group and the Berlin School of Economics and Law . The study deals with the available budgets of the marketing departments in the B2B environment, as well as the distribution of funds across the various marketing channels. For the first time in years, the study on the 2018 budgets showed a significant reduction in annual marketing budgets, after they had risen steadily in previous years.
  • Trend barometer. The trend barometer published annually by bvik shows which success factors are relevant for B2B marketing or will be in the near future. The association is scientifically accompanied and supported by the DHBW Mosbach University of Applied Sciences . Data topics related to big data and data analytics are currently among the greatest challenges in the industry, as is the lack of digitization know-how. The trends continue to include digital platform business models and the breaking up of silo structures in companies.

backgrounds

The reason for the establishment was the high quality differences between B-to-B and B-to-C marketing. The association wants to counter this with networking, exchange and further training. To this end, the association promotes cooperation between industrial companies of all sizes and communication service providers.
