Abed Bwanika

Abed Bwanika (born August 1, 1967 in Kimwanyi , Masaka District ) is a Ugandan politician.

From 1988 to 1994 he studied veterinary medicine at Makerere University in Kampala . From 1994 to 2001 he worked as a lecturer at Makerere University. In 2001 he founded the agricultural consulting company Livestock Consult .

While he was working for Yoweri Museveni during the 1996 election campaign , he moved to the camp of Museveni opponent Kizza Besigye for the 2001 election .

In the presidential election on February 23, 2006 , he was one of the six candidates for president as an independent , but only won 0.95 percent of the vote.
