Byfleet is a suburb of Woking in the county of Surrey in England with 6,995 inhabitants (2001 census).

geography

The place is in the east of Borough Woking on the M25 Motorway between the rivers Wey and Mole .

history

Byfleet belonged from 1894 as an independent municipality (Civil Parish) to the Chertsey Rural District . After the incorporation into the Urban District of Woking in 1933, the Parish Council was abolished. Since 1989 the place has again the status of a municipality and has a municipal council.

traffic

With the Byfleet and New Haw railway station , the place has a rail connection via Woking to Waterloo station in London .
