The Byrd Canyon is a deep sea trench off the Saunders coast of Marie Byrd Land in western Antarctica .

The name of this trench can be found in the data set of the General Bathymetric Chart of the Oceans in issue 5.18. The designation was recognized in June 1988 by the Advisory Committee for Undersea Features (ACUF). It is named after the American polar explorer Richard Evelyn Byrd (1888–1957). However, depth measurements in 2004 come to the conclusion that this trench does not exist.
